Là où je pars - The review
When I listened to Emmanuel’s record for the first time, I made a quite long break by the singles which I knew well and placed in the most fragile extensions of my heart. However, later I decided to move further and discovered that other songs are in a similar, unique atmosphere, completly diffrent from all that rubbish we are served with by the mass media. It’s worth adding that you need plenty of free time and a pretty big amount of reflection to understand Emmanuel’s creation to the full, since it’s not an easy music, based on one simple and schematic melody and the lyrics are written from the bottom of the heart. It seems that the French musical “Le Roi Soleil” ( in which he played the main and title role) had a considerable influence on this almost 30-year-old man’s creativeness. Even if he carried something of the romanticism and a yearning shown in the play to his music, there’s nothing wrong, for these inspirations made a young, unexperienced musician a real artist of a first class. It’s hearable how the vocalist grew up since his performannce in “The King Sun” (“Le Roi Soleil”), how he improved his vocal abilities and composing skills.
If someone looks for a record which will exist in their feelings forever and which will alleviate the suffering in difficult and depressing moments, he shouldn’t hesitate any longer. I’m not writing these words because of the site, on which they are situated. I don’t want my opinion to be subjective. Having made some research on the Net, I convinced myself that the artist leaves nobody insensible. He hits the nail of the head in everyone of us. What could we want more? “Thank you, even on my knees, even with the biggest punishment of the world” ( a duo with Clarie Joseph “Merci”).
